

At an early age John was baptized and was a member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church.
He attended public school and graduated from Trinity High School. After graduating, he decided to pursue a career as a professional truck driver. In 1959, he married his high school sweetheart Genoria Mills of Trinity, Texas. They were married over fifty years. To this union they were blessed with four children. Later they relocated to Houston, Texas. He worked at Southern Houston Compress Steel Company for over ten years, follow Southern he worked at South Pacific Trucking Company for over thirty years, until his retirement.
He was a member of Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church for over ten years. He sang in the Men's Choirs and was on the Deacon Board. Later, he joined New Commandment Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon Trustee. He was a faithful and devoted servant until God called him home.
On October 28, 2023, John peacefully transitioned and arrived in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, David & Mary Dupree; his wife, Genoria Dupree; daughter, Tina Dupree; son, Matthew Dupree; three brothers, Homer Dupree, Burnester and David Dupree Jr; and one sister, Mary Lou Freeman.
In God's care John leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Michael Dupree (Kim), John A. Dupree; one daughter, Charita Haines (Earl); five grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
