John Gilbert Renken, 86, born August 15, 1929 in Eagle Lake, Texas entered into eternal rest August 26, 2015. John was Honorably Discharged from the U.S Air Force in August 1954 after serving 4 years. During his service he worked as an A & E Mechanic and as an A/C Special Jet Fighter Mechanic. He was a member of the Air Depot 75th Squadron and received various medals for his achievements: National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, United Nations Service Medal & Korean Service Medal. John gave 38 years to United Energy Resources as a Senior Accounting Clerk. Left to cherish his precious memories: loving wife of 36 years, Joyce G. Renken; daughter, Dr. Julia M. Carson; son, John M. Renken and wife Ann; daughter, Michele R. Crain and husband Steven; grandson, Daniel C. Renken; brothers: Julian Renken and Bill Renken. Visitation will be Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 1:30pm-3pm with Funeral Services to follow at 3pm in the Grand Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
