John Arthur Hollifield

John graduated from C.E. Byrd High School, where he was a captain in R.O.T.C, and he then attended college for some time. After his first two beloved wives passed away, he later met Rebecca and went on to marry her on December 17, 2018.

John had a career as a Sheriff in Harris County for many years. He had a passion for Hunting, Preaching and Singing. John loved to start churches to bring people to the Lord. Winning souls and singing gospel songs were his passions. He was also an avid hunter. John loved nature and all of God’s works. He would put beautiful pictures up all over the house and he loved his family very much. He was a faithful loving husband and father.

He is preceded in death by: His first wife, Aletha Charlene Hollifield, his second wife, Opal Hollifield, his mother, Vera Mae Hollifield, his daughter Sharla Kae Evens- Ekinia, and his brother Kenneth Hollifield.

He is survived by: Rebecca Hollifield, Steve Hollifield, John "Skip" Lynn Hollifield.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 10:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
