Lt. Col. John Pratt Mason, Ret., passed away September 12, 2010 in Houston, TX. J.P. was a native Houstonian and graduated Texas A & M class of 1940. He was commissioned Regular Army and served in numerous domestic and foreign assignments, including WWII and Korean Conflict. J.P. is survived by his wife of 69 years, Naoma R. Mason; son, Richard A. Mason and daughter Marsha F. Fox; four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, TX 77077 (281-4907-2330).Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 with a gate time of 10:30 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX.
