He will be sorely missed and is survived by his wife Carol Shaw, children: John Robert Shaw, Traci Miller and Elizabeth Puwal, son-in-laws Todd Miller, Mark Puwal, grandchildren: Jarrod, Blake, Brady, Dillon and Drew, and great-grandson Aiden Abshire. Brothers Robert (Bobby) Shaw, Alan Shaw, sisters-in-law Barbara (Barb) Shaw, Jennie Shaw and many nieces and nephews. And of course, his beloved dog Ginger. Who by the way is lost without John’s lap to lie on.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents John and Hazel Shaw, daughter Leah and many beloved pets. John had a great love for birds and dogs.
All whom loved him dearly will never forget his lack of use for tools, lover of a good scotch, charm, story-telling and undying love for any hometown sports team. He was the very proud President of the Aero’s Booster Club. No matter the circumstance, John was always determined to see his favorite sports team play. We all have many memories of hockey games, baseball and football games.
John was a music loving, sports enthusiast, lover of dancing (until a pesky mosquito changed that. Who knew mosquitos were so attracted to Old Spice?), but most of all John loved his family. His greatest enjoyment besides sports was being with his family.
His family and friends knew him as a kind and mild-mannered family peacemaker, a creator of the most fabulous vacations for many clients and a food enthusiast.
Our family is following through with his wishes that he not have a funeral or burial. If you knew him, remember him in your own way. Raising a glass of your favorite drink in his memory would be quite appropriate.
