Johnie B. Herrington Jr., age 77, of Crosby, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Jonnie was born in Bessmay, Texas on July 5, 1942 to parents Johnie B. Herrington, Sr. and Moya Biscamp Norwood.
After graduating high school Johnie enlisted in the U.S. Navy and attended various technical schools. He worked in both instrumentation and electrical. He was employed by various oilfield and chemical companies. Johnie had several hobbies which included photography and gardening. He was a avid gun collector and loved music. Johnie very much enjoyed nature walking and had a love for the outdoors. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was his own person, did things his own way. He was very independent and resourceful, a jokester and very creative.
Johnie is survived wife, Stella Herrington; daughter, Amy Herrington of Spring,Texas; son, Michael Herrington and wife Pricilla of Porter, TX; five grandchildren, James, Ashley, Jonathon, Michael, Matthew; brother, William Herrington and wife Dianna of Coldsprings, TX; and sister, Katie Dowdy and husband Glen of Brenham, TX.
He is preceded in death by his father, J.B. Herrington, Sr., mother, Moya Norwood and brother, Robert Herrington.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM, in the Family Chapel at Brookside with a burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
