Johnny was a proud graduate of North Shore High School. He met the love of his life, Belia Wheat, in Houston, Texas, and they were united in marriage on July 29, 2005. He built a long and dedicated career in construction and had been faithfully employed with D.R. Horton for the past four years.
A devoted member of Lakewood Church, Johnny was a God-fearing man whose faith guided his life. He loved the Lord, and his kind spirit, generosity, and love for others reflected his Christian heart. Johnny found great joy in traveling, fishing, and golfing, but his greatest blessing was the time he spent with his beloved family and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Earl Wheat; his mother, Glenda Jean Brasher; his sister, Kelly Wheat; his grandchild, Sean Mabbun Jr.; and his great-grandchild, Savana Rodriguez. While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith and will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Belia Wheat; his stepchildren, Robert L. Vielma (Jessica Vielma), Angela Beal, and Aaron Bazan (Jessica Guerrero); his cherished grandchildren, De’Xia, Trevor, Bobby D’Angelo, Joseph, Marcus, Quentin, Xiara, Nicolas “Nico,” Shadron “Shay,” Sophia, Xeven, and True; and his great-grandchild, Riley J. Reyna.
Johnny is also survived by his siblings, Christopher Wheat (Tracy Wheat), Nicholas Wheat, Kristi Dickey (David Dickey), and brother-in-law, Steve Morgan; his stepmother, Delores “Dee” Wheat; and many loving nieces and nephews, including Bryce, David, Donovan, Jace, Cannon, Gage, Ren, Laney, Archer, Amanda (Zac), Stephanie (Ryan), Samantha (Brady), Cheyenne and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kennedy, Reese, Bennett, Everett, Grace, Grant, Nico and Alice.
Pallbearers honoring Johnny’s life will be Tim Perry, Timmy Perry, Nate Perry, Collin Perry, Robert Vielma, Aaron Bazan, Joseph Mabbun and Trevor Vielma.
