

Jonathan attended Burrus Elementary, where he excelled in gymnastics and was a member of the Jazz and Symphonic Band; Alexander Hamilton Middle School, where he participated in Chuck Norris’ “Kick Drugs Out of America” Martial Arts Program, and attended Booker T. Washington High School, where he participated in the Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Course (JROTC).
In 2000 Jonathan decided to enlist in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he completed Army Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia and served as an Army Motor Transport Operator, earning the rank of Private Second Class.
Upon his discharge from the Army Reserve, he worked a number of jobs before becoming a long term employee of Weatherford Laboratories, where he was selected to conduct company training and business in Bogota, Colombia. At the time of his death, he was employed at DHL Global, where he worked in the inbound processing center.
He loved spending time with and supporting his family and friends, whether it was playing pool, video games, attending special occasions, practicing martial arts, or simply relaxing and listening to hip-hop, alternative, or old school Motown music. Jonathan was an easygoing, unselfish, and compassionate man who was very protective of his family and who had a very close bond with his brother. Additionally, he was a positive supporter and participant of projects founded by his cousin Rashon Lewis focusing on positive child development and confidence building.
He is preceded in death by his beloved father Craig Lewis, his Maternal Grandparents Leora Edwards and J.C. Felder Sr., his Paternal Grandfather L.C. Lewis, his devoted aunts Lois Cassandra “Sandy” Lane, Janet Catherine “Button” Felder, and Linda Faye Arbuckle, and uncles J.C. Felder Jr., Lucius Tyler, and George Grant Arbuckle.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Lucille F. Lewis, Paternal Grandmother Vernell Carter, Step Mother Cheryl K. Lewis, his brother Jarrod L. Lewis (Antoinette), Step-Brother Gabriel Carey (Rachella), Step-Sister Camilya Carey), Brothers in Law Alan R. Carter, Edgar D. Carter, and Thomas L. Carter, Aunts Jessie Hudson (John), Emma Simon, Tanza Abdullah, Bridgott Lewis, Ira Tennon, Marilyn Davis, Uncles James Charles Felder, Rev. George Felder, Reginald Caldwell, Larry Lewis Sr. (Sharon), Bart Lewis (Tamara), nieces Jessica, Jannette, and Jaliyah Lewis, nephews Jonovan and Julian Lewis, and host of extended family and friends. He also leaves to forever hold him his very special second family, the Hernandez Family, to include Roberto Hernandez Sr. and Mary Hernandez, Roberto Hernandez Jr. (Amy) and family, and Paula Hernandez and family, and very special friends Ron Glenn (Patricia), Jeweral Bell, and Willie Wright III.
