Jose Montalvo Sr., age 85, of Los Saenz, Roma, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. He was born in Los Saenz, Roma, Texas on August 25, 1938 to parents Ofelia Martinez and Natividad Montalvo.
Jose graduated from Roma High School and received an honorable discharge from the US Army in 1963. He met Alberta Montalvo in Houston, Texas through mutual friends and married on September 6, 1972. Jose had a career as a machinist at Dresser Tools for 26 years.
Jose was a loving husband and father who dedicated his life to his family. He was such a hardworking person and his work ethic was admirable. He loved to come home after work to do work projects around the house and enjoyed spending time with the family. He adored his grandchildren and they were the absolute light of his life.
He will be greatly missed.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Natividad Montalvo and Ofelia Martinez Montalvo; brothers, Gilberto Montalvo and Guadalupe Montalvo.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Alberta Montalvo; daughters, Melissa Borgula, Belinda Perez, Eugenia Montalvo, and Vanessa Montalvo; sons, Jose Montalvo Jr., and Arturo Montalvo; sisters, Alma Montalvo, and Oralia Montalvo; brother, Antonio Montalvo; 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Samantha, Abbony, Perla, Evelyn, Jacob, Adam, Alexis, Matthew, Izabella, and Xavier; 3 great grandchildren, Isabella, Gia and Azael.
A visitation for Jose will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A rosary will occur Monday, January 8, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A committal service will occur Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
