I am deeply saddened at the loss of Mr. Valcarce. He was an exceptional man and employee. The entire ABM staff at the airport will truly miss him, his dedication, and his gentleness.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. He was a beautiful person inside and out.

I met him at the airport and he was the nicest, most caring person. He was so proud of his family. He was always talking about his kids. My family is Cuban, also, so he would tell me stories about his life there. He will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. He was loved by all.


My Abuelo passed peacefully in his home almost a year to the day after my grandmother's passing. He is no longer suffering. My Abuelo was a family man. He loved his family with all of his heart. He always told me how much he loved me- every single time I talked to him. He took in anyone that needed help, even if the family disagreed with him. He was one of the most caring people I've ever known. He was also a godly man- he reminded me of how blessed I am all the time. He was always positive, even in the midst of a terminal illness. He always looked at things optimistically. I will always remember that and try to learn from his lessons.He introduced me to my love of horses. He had racing horses and one of my favorite memories are being in his backyard watching them and "riding them". He loved animals so much- he got in trouble with the city because he fed all of the wild animals including skunks and racoons. 😂He led a life that was simple. He didn't need much. He even worked up until a few months before his death. At 80 years old-he worked at the airport where he walked all day shuttling people on wheelchairs who needed help. Even when he didn't have to work- he loved to stay active and because he loved to help others. He always wanted to be with his animals and to be outdoors. His long walks are ones that I will never forget when I used to visit him in Florida. We always went and fed the ducks and went for long walks with the dogs. He would always take in a stray or an unwanted dog (even if they were naughty). Abuelo was born in Cuba and his parents were born in the Old Castile region of Spain. His parents escaped the civil war in Spain in the late 30s to Cuba and ironically, he escaped Castro in Cuba in the 50s. Coming from a family who were brave enough to make a better life for themselves is something I am proud of. He gave us a better life I am always grateful for that. Abuelo- say hi Abuela and Jesus for me. Te amo.
