Joseph A. Barzilla Jr.

Joseph Albert Barzilla passed away on Monday, the 27th of May 2013, at the age of 78. Joe was born in Houston on February 9, 1935. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary, St. Thomas High School, and the University of Texas, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He spent 25 years in the insurance business before deciding to “do it his way” in the Las Vegas Casino Business. Joe had an amazing gift for enjoying life and celebrating with family and friends. He had a lifelong love of telling jokes and making everyone laugh. He never met a stranger or made an enemy. His family will remain strong from the incredible examples he set. As a devoted Christian man, family takes comfort knowing he is with his Lord and Savior. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Cecilia and his brother, Dominic. Joe is survived by Fran, his loving wife of 51 years; his sons, Joe III and wife Aline, John, and Kenneth and wife Krissi; and grandchildren John Jr, Kenny Jr, Faith, Coulter, Anthony, Quaid and Payton. He is also survived by his brother Charlie and wife Vicki, brother, Sammy, sister in law Brenda, and many loving family members. Joe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on May 30st at 10am, immediately followed by a service at St Cyril of Alexandria, 10503 Westheimer Road, Houston. Gravesite Service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale. In Lieu of Flowers, Donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
