

Joseph (Pep) Isadore Cavarretta, was born on the 9th of May 1925, to parents Roy Isadore Cavarretta and Josie Maddi Cavarretta and went to his eternal home on Palm Sunday, the 10th of April 2022, just 29 days shy of his 97th birthday.
Pep proudly served in WWII as an Army Medic. After returning from the war, he began his career as a liquor salesman with Quality Beverage Company. As Pep’s knowledge of the liquor industry grew, he decided to branch off and open his own store; A-C Cut Rate Liquor. Over the years, the company grew to four retail locations as well as a wholesale business in Pasadena.
Pep was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Lee Cavarretta. Pep leaves behind three children: Joey Cavarretta, Joanna Barzilla and husband, Terry, Isadore Cavarretta and wife, Donna; four grandchildren; as well as four great grandchildren. Pep also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
The family is forever grateful for the love and care shown by caregiver, Maria Guevara, over the last two years.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 21st of April in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A funeral service is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 22nd of April also in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons.
Those honored to serve as pallbears during Friday's service are Shane Barzilla, Philip Barzilla, Johnny Cavarretta, Roy Cavarretta, Vincent Cavarretta, Mike Musslewhite, Russell Raia, Anthony Tarantino, and Joe Tucker
The interment service will follow via an escorted cortege at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
