Josephine Louise Salvaggio

A native Houstonian and devoted Catholic, born to Bessie and Ben Gullo the 19th of August 1934. She was preceded in death by her brothers Charlie Gullo and Preston Gullo. She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony John Salvaggio, Sr. of 59 years.

She will be forever missed by her children, Anthony John Salvaggio, Jr. and wife Claudia; Jack Salvaggio and wife Kate; Mary Beth Mandola and husband Michael; and Betsy Daly and husband Christopher. She is also survived by grand children Jennifer Hart and husband Greg; Anthony Salvaggio, III and wife Katie; Lauren Bennett and husband Trevor; Joseph Salvaggio and wife Amy; Jack Salvaggio, Jr.; Christopher Salvaggio; Michelle Fuhrman and husband Nick; Dana Mandola, F. Michael Mandola, Kendall Daly, Kristin Daly and William Daly and great-grand children Andrew Hart, Luke Hart, Rylie Hart, Graham Fuhrman, and Madison Fuhrman.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers during Friday’s services are Anthony Salvaggio, III, Trevor Bennett, Greg Hart, Joseph Salvaggio, Jack Salvaggio, Jr., F. Michael Mandola, Nick Fuhrman, and William Daly.

Josephine touched the lives of many people with her contagious smile and generosity. She deeply cherished her family and friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until half-past seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 4th of June, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where the recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at half-past seven o’clock.

Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 5th of June, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1701 Sage Road in Houston, where the Rev. William Oliver, Parochial Vicar, is to serve as celebrant.

The Rite of Committal is to follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.

In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in Josephine’s memory may be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77056.
