

Juanita graduated from High School and received a Diploma from Tampico Secundaria. She met Ricardo Maldonado in Veracruz, Mexico and married in 1967. Juanita had a career in Laundress at Double Tree for 25 years. She had a passion for shopping and taking care of her family.
Juanita was a kind and strong soul who always had her family’s best interest at heart. She moved to Houston, Texas 37 years ago to provide a safer and brighter future for her family. As a single mother, she supported her five children by working honest jobs and taking on extra work to give them all she could. She was known for her strong work ethic, ambition, and loyalty. She always strived for more and ensured her children received a good education. Juanita worked for 25 years as a punctual and dedicated laundress. Even as she faced health issues due to age, she never gave up and fought until the very end. Anyone that knew her would say she was a strong loving person that could face anything that came her way. She will forever be in our hearts and remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo Maldonado; daughter, Martha Maldonado; sisters, Lencha Gamez, Vicky Gamez, and Josefina Candanosa.
Juanita is survived by her children, Laura Gonzales, Blanca Trevino, Ricardo Maldonado Jr., and Beatriz Maldonado;15 grandchildren, Laura Gonzales, Paco Gonzales, Vanessa Gonzales, Krystal Gonzales, Osiel Gonzales, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Blanka Garza, Victoria Diaz, Hector G . Trevino, Alyssa Trevino, Aliyah Maldonado, Martha P. Maldonado, Marilu Maldonado, Miranda Maldonado, and Ricardo Maldonado III; 11 great grandchildren, Olivia Lopez, Emiliano Lopez, Ethan Bocanegra, Noah Toledo, Julian Gonzales, Bella Gonzales, Osiel Gonzales Jr., Elliel Gonzales, Aliyah Hoque, Zuri Alexander, and Isaiah Alexander; sisters, Sofia Ochoa, Elsa Gamez, and Eva Gamez; brothers, Pedro Gamez, and Misael Conde.
Serving a pallbearer is Laura Gonzales.

A memorial service for Juana will be held Friday, September 27, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, followed by an inurnment from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
