Julia D. Powers

Julia was born June 27, 1926, in the Bronx, New York. Julia is preceded in death by her father and mother, Dan and Stella Sherby; her beloved husband, Jimmy Michael Powers, Sr.; and youngest son, Jimmy Michael Powers, Jr. Julia is survived by her daughter, Maureen Broughton and husband, William; son Tom Powers and wife, Kathleen; son Dennis Powers and wife, Linda; and daughter-in-law Susan Davis Powers; grandchildren and pallbearers , Lance Miles, Randall Miles, Braden Miles, Jimmy Powers III, Jeremy Powers, John Adrian and Molly Powers; great-grandchildren, Hayden Miles, Evey Powers, and Anna Lynn Powers.

The family especially extends their appreciation to the staff at Oyster Creek Manor where mother resided. The family is also thankful for the compassionate care given by Hospice Compassus. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077.
