Julie Ann Gomez, age 57, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 25, 2015 in Houston, TX. Julie was preceded in death by her father, Thomas R. Gomez, and leaves behind Scott E. Hendrickson, husband, Rebecca G. Wingate, sister, Peggy J. Gomez, sister, and Faye D. Gomez, mother.
Julie was an extraordinary person who led a remarkable life. Although only 57 years in length, she traveled the world, had a successful career at Enron, earned her MBA, remodeled and built two beautiful homes, loved 80’s music, and found so many ways to positively touch the lives of others.
She fought cancer and beat the odds by a long shot through her medical care and undefeatable attitude. Through her 21 year battle she inspired those all around her and she never uttered a word of complaint. Julie volunteered at her beloved MD Anderson Cancer Center for years to help others facing a similar challenge to see the hope and remain strong. Julie loved animals and was also very involved in pug rescue efforts via PugHearts of Houston. In lieu of flowers, donations to MD Anderson or PugHearts of Houston would be greatly appreciated.
Per her request, no service is being held now. A celebration of Julie’s life is being planned for early 2016. More details will follow via this website.
