Juliette Abercia Moses, 94, relinquished this life in serenity and love on May 17, 2016. Juliette hailed from Elgin, Texas but grew up in Houston. She had 5 little brothers, all of whom adored her. Hardship created a singular and enduring bond among them that has only been interrupted through death. After graduating from Jeff Davis High School she worked for the phone company. During this time she met and married Eugene Moses from Latrobe, PA. Together they served our great country, he as a member of the US Air Force, she maintaining their home life as they were required to move frequently. They had four children. After her husband was killed in service, she moved her family back to Houston where she devoted herself to her children, her extended family, her church and church community. Her faith was a constant source of comfort to her. In her own quiet fashion, she was the cheering section, confidante, nurse and counselor to many through the years. She is pre-deceased by her son Paul, her husband Eugene, her parents Tofie and Libby Abercia, her brother Johnnie Abercia and her husband's parents, siblings and spouses. She is survived by 3 children and their families; George and Sharon Moses; John and Patti Moses; Kathleen Moses and Paul McAllister; 4 grandchildren, Paul Moses; Amy Moses Peugh and husband Jonathan; and Juliette and Jackson McAllister; her brothers and their wives, Ralph and Adelene Abercia, Louis and Rosalie Abercia, George and Irene Abercia, Jack and Jacquie Abercia, sister-in-law Florence Abercia and brother-in-law Paul Moses; over 40 nieces and nephews and many more family and friends. We are grateful to her caregivers Renita, Deborah, Ebony and LaVee for their compassion and dedication to her well being. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. George Orthodox Church. Services will be Sunday, May 22, 2016 at St. George Orthodox Church with visitation at 5:00 pm and a celebration of her life at 6:00 pm. Funeral services Monday, May 23, at 10:00 am.
Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, Houston, TX.
