He was in the founding class of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he met his wife, Joan, before graduating from the University of Houston.
Matt and Joan were married for 52 years, with two loving sons, Matthew and Jeffrey.
He worked for ASK, Computer Associates, Compaq, and Hewlett-Packard prior to his retirement.
Matt enjoyed playing golf as often as he could before retiring, and even more so after. He always put his family first, dedicating his time to his family’s activities. Among his favorite activities was going to Astros games with his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ed and Jeanne.
Matt is survived by his wife, Joan, and his two sons, Matthew and Jeffrey, and his three brothers, Jim, Bill, and Jack, and their families.
