Kamari Faith Westbrook was Extraordinary, Unique and Special well before entering into this world we call Earth. A long time ago, two best friends Marvie Mae Frazier (Robert Lee Frazier) and Mary Ann Franklin (Great Grandmothers) had never imagined that they would be forever connected in this manner. Decades later, unknowingly their grandchildren Ki’Von Mallard and Kenneth Westbrook would “meet” in high school and eventually created our Princess Kamari Faith! She took her precious time entering this world on April 19, 2014, weighing in at 7 pounds 6 ounces.
Kamari as an 8 year old attended KIPP Journey in third grade in Mr. Pineiro’s class. She had a special day to meet and greet her new teacher and classmates in person and couldn’t stop talking about all the handmade get well cards she received. She was such an infectious child, full of life and loved family especially ALL of her cousins!
Kamari Faith Westbrook will be pinned with a Turtle which signifies her Honor of Existence in Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Incorporated; as she would become a Legend Soror, as it is her Heritage. She would be eligible to pledge the organization as her Maternal Grandmother.
She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of High Grade Glioma (A Rare Cancer) Brain and Spine. Kamari is the youngest child in the US diagnosed with this disease. Medical Specialists were flown in from around the country to help us with this massive fight. Although, this disease has an unknown origin and is extremely hard to treat; Kamari and her parents have prepared our medical society with samples of her DNA, Blood, Tissue and Bone during a surgical procedure July 2022. Kamari has made HERstory! Her samples are with Baylor College of Medicine Research Center Houston Medical Center to help other children that shall unfortunately follow her path. Kamari graduated to heaven 1/23/23. She left us with her fingerprint and well as the live sound of her heartbeat which we will hold on to forever!
We will always cherish the memories of Kamari Faith forever and is survived by her Mother and Father Ki’Von Mallard and Kenneth Westbrook of Houston, TX; Great Grandparents Payton Mallard Sr. and Nelvin Mallard; Grandmother Carrie Williams (Maurice Williams); Grandfather Keith Mallard Sr. (Ivory Jones); Grandmother Janie Davis (Joshua Herron), Aunt’s Ka-Kquana Frazier-Mallard, Kiara Frazier-Mallard, Heaven Mallard, Arianna Bullen and Brianna Lucious; Uncle’s Keith Mallard Jr., Keydrion Mallard, Kylan Mallard; and Jeric Davis. Kamari also has a host of Great Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Family and Friends.
Kamari was met at the Gates of Heaven by her Great Grandparents Marvie Mae & Robert Lee Frazier and Mary Ann Franklin along with her Uncle Alandre Mallard
