Kannethparackel Varghese (K.V.) Ninan was born on May 3, 1938 to the Parackel, Pakalomattom family, in Puramattom, Kerala, India as a son of Christian parents; Varghese and Sosamma. He was the fourth son out of eight children. He studied at Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla. Afterwards, he completed a mechanical engineering education at Kalamassery, Aluva, Kerala. He then became a quality control inspector at Ralli Wolf, a UK tools company, in Bombay. He married Annamma Abraham on October 20, 1969. He was her protector and she was his comfort. She was also born to Christian parents; Abraham Paulose and Annamma from Kanjarathamala family in Ranny, Kerala, India. He immigrated to Pasadena, Texas, United States to reunite with his beloved wife in 1975. His family was brought together in 1976. His daughters, Susan and Annie, were reunited with their parents; and his son, George was born. In later years, he relocated to Houston and then to Stafford, Texas. During this time, he worked at NL Atlas Bradford and Weatherford, oil and gas companies, as a quality control inspector.
He dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and he obeyed Him in water baptism in 1975. His experience with the Lord transformed his priorities to God, family, and helping people. He was a strong supporter of the homeless and gospel missions both in Houston as well as abroad. He was pivotal in establishing an urban church in New Delhi, India. During his life in America, he was active in the Indian Christian community.
Mr. K. V. Ninan poured all he had into his family. He deeply loved his wife. He raised his children with strong spiritual and educational values. He was a very involved father in their lives. He never missed his children’s music recitals, sporting events, or church activities. He was their greatest champion. Many lessons were learned through his love and sacrifice. His sacrifice allowed his children to complete their college education. They were his jewels in his crown. His greatest jewel was his wife who brought happiness and laughter to his life. His grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. They were his shining bright stars in his latter days.
He was known to be a soft-spoken person with a strong moral compass by his co-workers and friends. He lived a humble and respectful life.
Mr. K. V. Ninan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on November 10, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, “Kunjamma,” and his two daughters, Susan Chacko, a school administrator, Annie Easow, a pharmacist, and his son, George Ninan, a financial executive.
