Karen Dodge Doyle passed away peacefully from this life on Saturday, July 12th in Houston, Texas at the age of 75. She was born January 20th, 1950 in Coral Gables, Florida and lived in Florida and Louisiana before settling in Houston in 1965, where she remained for the rest of her life.
Karen worked as an aide in a senior citizen living facility. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and collecting and sharing endless photos of her family. She never met a stranger and made everyone she met feel like a lifelong friend. She also enjoyed trips to the beach, playing bingo, and going on excursions with her friends from Brookdale assisted living.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Jerry Dodge, and her sisters, Linda DeSalvo and Kathy Allen. Karen is survived by her children, Wendy Faterkowski Doyle, Patricia Faterkowski Doyle, and Thomas Faterkowski; granddaughter, Ava Cavalier; brother-in-law, David DeSalvo; nieces, Sharon Cutler and Tiffany DeSalvo Dunn; nephews, Ryan DeSalvo and Justin DeSalvo; and numerous friends and extended family.
A visitation for Karen will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, with a funeral service to occur at 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow at 12:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are David DeSalvo, Ryan DeSalvo, Justin DeSalvo, William Dunn, Henry DeSalvo, and Thomas Faterkowski.
