Karen was born on November 11, 1958 to Albert Lathon Kilpatrick and Maria Teresa Palomino in Harlingen, Texas. Karen spent much of her early childhood in Villa Garcia, Zacatecas Mexico where she grew a deep love for her maternal grandmother Sara Teresa Bernal that she would speak of for years to come. Karen resided in Houston, Tx with her Parents and two older brothers, Joey Lathon Kilpatrick and Jeffrey Joe Kilpatrick who she referred to as her protectors. Karen had many accomplishments in her life but her most precious milestones were the births of her three children; Shannon Duran Martinez, Lathon Jared Hernandez, Allie Maria Teresa Kilpatrick and her marriage to the love of her life Brijido Gonzales. She married Brijido on July 22, 1994 and together they devoted the rest of their lives to Christ. Many would come to know Karen as a God fearing and faith-based woman. Karen was fiercely independent, she touched the lives of many people in a special and unique way. Her personality was captivating with humor that was unmatchable and her faith unshakeable. Her exemplary life inspires us to love deeply, serve others and live a life for Jesus.
Our beloved Karen Sue Gonzales was called home on June 19th and took her rightful place in heaven surrounded by her children and with her dearest love Brijido at her side.
