Karon Kay Anderson, affectionately known as Kay, was the second child born to Robert and Ozella Walker, in Muskegon Michigan. Kay graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and Our Lady of the Grace College.
Kay worked at Southwestern Bell for 30 years, and after retiring from there, she started a new career teaching ELA students at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School. She also flew with Continental Airline as a stewart.
Kay always had her door open and a place in which to lay your head and get a hot meal, so many of us lived with her. Rescuing all and any type of animals, nursing them back to health, and sometimes giving them a home.
Kay was preceded in death by her father Robert E. Walker Sr. and brother Robert E. Walker Jr. She is survived by her mother Ozella, and sisters Sharon, Robin (Rodney), Sundra, Kelly, April, and Audrey, nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Kay loved life, and she never met a TOMATO she didn't like. A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend, and a teacher.
Kay's Celebration of Life will be Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home at Champions.
