Katherine M. Cashman

Our sweet Mama went to meet Jesus and is now walking and singing “In the Garden” with Him. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all she encountered.

Katherine blessed us with 98 years on this earth sharing her selfless and unconditional love for her family, her unwavering Catholic faith, and her remarkable inner beauty. Her crocheting abilities were exceptional. She was an amazing chef, baker, cake designer and seamstress.

Katherine’s strong will and determination aided her through life’s incredible journey which was filled with laughter, immense love and devotion to family. Katy welcomed everyone with open arms into her kitchen enjoying food and making memories. As a long time parishioner of Holy Name Catholic Church, she baked delicious cookies and cakes for the many societies of the parish.

Katherine is preceded in death and will be reunited with her husband Bernard (Bunny), daughter Mary Ellen and grandson Lee in Heaven. She is survived by her sister Rosa; daughters Margaret, Christina and Virginia; son-in-laws Buddy, David and Damian; grandchildren Erin, Emily, Melissa, Eileen, Monica and Kaitlin; great grandchildren Joseph, Kennedy, Presley, Charles, Beckett, Elena and Corben; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, grandson-in-law Jake and great grandchildren.

The family would like to express thanks for the prayers, encouragement and acts of kindness during her stay at the Parsons House.

Mrs Cashman was such a sweet and genuinely caring person. I remember fun times and long talks sitting in her green kitchen at the table when we were younger. She will be missed. Rest In Peace in the arms of angels.

I have so many memories that it's hard to share just one. Aunt Katy was special to me because she was my aunt and my godmother. She was always available for my family whenever and whatever time she may have been needed. That's what happens when you live around the corner from each other all your life! She was always welcoming and of course made me feel right at home. Afterschool sometimes we were fortunate to enjoy a special treat! The many family reunions that she and Uncle Bunny hosted were so special and really made wonderful memories. I can still see Uncle Bunny cranking the homemade ice cream and your Mom dishing it out to all us kids. Peter and Elise, our granddaughter, and I were able to visit her a few years back. She was still so hospitable and happy that we came to see her. We will miss her so much.

I'm unable to come for the funeral, but I will be there in spirit and am sending my love and prayers to the Cashman family.

With love always and forever,
Antoinette
