Kay Hurt

Kathryn Hurt was born on June 30, 1927 to Opal and A.G. Inman. She was the 2nd child born of 5 children. Her parents and brothers preceded her in death. She grew up in Konawa, Oklahoma and graduated from Konawa High School. She received a Bachelor of Business Degree from Pa American University and worked in Flour Bluff ISD for many years. She taught school at Inwood Baptist School when her grandchildren attended. She married Vernon D. Hurt in February 1947 and her son, Richard was born in November of that year. Vernon preceded her in death in 2011. She was saved as a young woman and served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, in Mission organizations and many church committees.

She is survived by her son, Richard and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Matthew and wife Antoinette; Jean, Tracy, and Doran; great-grandsons Jaylen and Cayleb; great-granddaughters Denise and Kamryn and numerous great nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in Chapel of Pat H. Foley & Company with a Celebration of Kay's life to follow from 10:30-11:30 AM, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018. She will be laid to rest with her husband at 2:00PM with close family.
