He loved them all. A popular Houston radio personality in the 50s and 60s, he remained in the broadcasting field for over 50 years, most of his career with KNUZ/KQUE. While Ken’s radio show was aimed at the housewife, in 1958 he made an on air resolution to work more with teens and teen hops in the city. He kept that resolution. Ken was honored with induction into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2006. His numerous colleagues remember him as a kind and generous man, always willing to help others succeed. An avid Rockets and Astros fan, he had the thrill to have attended a Larry Dierker no-hitter with his son, Douglas. Ken loved the horse races and went to the track whenever he could. A loving, caring man with a gift for storytelling, his favorite pastime was hosting family gatherings which he referred to as “making memories”.
