

Ken was born November 23, 1940 in New Orleans,Louisiana and passed away on February 2, 2015 in Houston, TX, at the age of 74. He graduated from De La Salle High School and attended Tulane University in New Orleans. Ken was a resident of Kingwood, TX for 40 years. His entire working career was in the oil field where he served in several capacities, his favorite being Sales. Ken attempted to retire a couple of times, but the industry kept calling him back. He most recently worked for JANIC Directional Survey, Inc. Ken loved meeting longtime friends and reminiscing about the "good times", which he had many. He always had a smile on his face which earned him the nick name of "Smiley". He was loved by all.
He was married to Jeanette Dufrene for 53 years. Ken is survived by his wife, daughter Leslie Guidry Huff and husband Scott and the loves of his life, his three grandchildren, Ken Valerie and Avery. He is also survived by his sister Sheila Guidry, nephew John Brown and niece Aliska Jones and her children, and by his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Neil Smith. He is preceded in death by his son Kenneth John Guidry.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015, at Brookside Funeral Home, at 11:00. Visitation with the family will be held after the memorial at Brookside.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital, especially the Cardiovascular ICU for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers may we suggest donating blood to St. Luke's Blood Center, St. Luke's Hospital, 6720 Bertner Ave., Houston, TX 77030. Another suggestion would be to donate to the Kenneth J. Guidry Memorial Fund, c/o Scott Huff (Trustee), 6211 Mighty Elm Ct., Kingwood, TX 77345. Donations to the Fund will be contributed to various charitable causes at a later date.
