

Beloved husband of Sandra, his loving and devoted wife of 23 years.
Loving father of Kenneth Vowles, Jr., Angela Vowles, Andrea Vowles, Michael (Tara) Orta, Darren (Kathleen) Orta, and Alan (Rosalinda) Orta.
Proud grandfather of 16: Ava and Lily Hill, Evelyn and Abriana Oharah, Kenneth III, Daniel, and Zachary Vowles, Byanca (Jason) Foster, Veronica Orta, Miranda (Bob) Caldwell, Justus Orta, Miranda Torres and Wendy Nadeau, Rosie, Saya and Andres Orta.
Great-grandfather of 4: Theo and Alvis Caldwell, and Julien and Izaeah Foster
Ken is survived by his siblings: Marilyn (the late Skip) Speck, Donald (the late Cheryl) Vowles, Virginia (the late Fred) Watkins, Linda (Jerry) Race, William (Diana) Vowles, Muriel (Brad) Pearson, Sister-in-law, Patricia (the late Jim) Vowles, friend and mother of his girls, Bernadette (Jon) Vowles-Butka, dear and lifelong friend, Frank Marsh, many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends who all love him and will miss him very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Florence Vowles, his brother, George Jr. Robert (the late Evelyn), and James Vowles, and sisters Evelyn (the late Bill) Chapman, and Esther (the late David) Brown.
Ken was a devout Christian and attended The Father’s House in Houston.
Ken was born in Providence, Rhode Island, but spent most of his life in Michigan, before moving to Texas in 2014.
Ken was a Navy Veteran, and retired from General Motors, and also worked at Home Depot. He enjoyed writing, taking road trips, watching sports, and was especially a fan of the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers, although, became a fan of the Astros after moving to Houston (when they weren’t playing the Tigers.)
He loved the outdoors, loved camping and playing golf, when he was able. Ken always had a great love of all kinds of music from a young age.
But his greatest joys were his family and hearing the Word of God.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
