Kristina Nichole Luna

Kristina Nichole Luna, 29, was delivered to heaven on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 4:10 a.m., from her hometown of Houston, TX at MD Anderson Hospital. Kristina fought a courageous 2 ½ year battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer with honor and fearlessness.

Kristina was born January 23, 1985 to Robert Luna and Mary Keena. She has a sister Erika Luna and brother Anthony Luna.

She excelled in her career, becoming one of the youngest managers ever at CVS Pharmacy. At 26, Kristina was recognized for her outstanding work ethic and presented the 2011 CVS District Paragon Award.

Kristina was a modern-day Renaissance woman who was highly artistic and imaginative. She was a self-taught make-up artist who created a series of inspirational videos aimed at cancer patients - offering tips and advice on looking and feeling beautiful during treatments. The videos can be viewed on her YouTube channel, Kristina Nichole. Her tireless energy and resourcefulness was also expressed through the hand-crafted gifts she made including custom Houston Texans wreaths, festive holiday decorations and one of a kind sneaker. Kristina was also a true foodie who loved to experience the newest restaurants and indulge new recipes. She especially enjoyed entertaining friends and family in her home and serving her latest gourmet feat. She was a generous, fun loving and incredibly strong woman who was a true inspiration and role model to her friends, family and staff. Above all, Kristina was a devoted mother to her 3 beautiful sons whom she loved beyond measure and considered her greatest achievement and legacy.

Kristina is survived by her beloved husband Efrain Flores, her 3 children Jakob, Jayden and Jamie, her parents Robert Luna and Mary Keena, her grandfather John Keena, her sister Erika Luna and brother Anthony Luna. She has numerous cousins, aunts and uncles whom she cherished and was adored equally in return. Her aunts Susan Keena, Julie Keena, Helen Moses, and uncles Michael Keena, Kevin Keena, Stephen Keena, Christopher Keena, John Keena, Mark Keena, and Guadalupe Luna. Her cousins Jessica Burkhart, Kristy Keena, Jennifer Keena, Kyle Keena, Jessica Keena, Krystal Keena, Giselle Keena, Sean Keena, Katelyn Keena, Gregory Gallagher, Joseph Luna, Guadalupe Luna Jr., Renee Luna, Stephanie Moses, Jennifer Moses, Gina Mendez, Raymond Mendez, Michael Luna, Gilbert Luna, Jr., Jeremy Luna, and Anita Robertson.

Special thanks to Kristina’s best friend and aunt Julie Keena for all of her support during Kristina’s endless days and nights at the hospital, and for being her confidant during her most difficult hours.

KRISTINA’S FINAL WISH TO THOSE ATTENDING HER MEMORIAL SERVICES IS TO WEAR HER FAVORITE COLOR PINK AS A SHOW OF SUPPORT IN FINDING A CURE FOR BREAST CANCER.

Visitation will be Monday, September 22, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 pm. Service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Grand Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
