Lana Marlene Bishop

On Saturday, October 1, 2022; Lana Marlene Bishop gave her final breath at the age of 58. For the past two years, Lana endured an aggressive battle with breast cancer. Lana was born to Jane Drewery and Huey "Buster" Thomas on November 8, 1963. Her legacy carries life through her surviving family members. Lana is survived by her son, Drake Bishop and Drake's father Steve Bishop. Also, by her brother Rick Wagner and his family, her aunt, Bobbie Stewart; her niece Sage Richard and her family. Additionally, by her cousins Todd Stewart, Lisa Morgan, and Rachel Brown, with their families. In extension, to her many astounding friends she held dearly.

Lana was an esteemed graduate from The University of Houston achieving a bachelor's degree in Psychology. She was a social beacon to her Houston community and was passionate about effecting positive change in people. Community was sacred to Lana, not only shown by her tenacity to help local services, but by her inate prowess in leading a marketing division at TopBuilder, a software company. She and her team were responsible for issuing software that included construction mapping, real estate tools, and marketing solutions. Moreso, as an active PTO Board member during her son's education, her talents transpired towards managing many philanthropic campaigns, and social fundraising organizations. Lana was an avid leader toward all her life's pursuits and was known for her bohemian spirit and gravitational friendship.

Lana's unicity and sincere dynamic captured the very essence of life, through her synergy with everyone she connected with. She curated her life with profound purpose in art, academia, writing, and being a beautiful matriarch to her family. Everyone she encountered throughout her life will not feel her ephemeral loss; but remember the life she vigorously lived. Lana’s vivid life shines brightly and perseveres in all our memories.
