Lawrence James Boriskie

He proudly served his country in the US Navy after leaving the family farm. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Warhol on January 30, 1954. They had a wonderful life together traveling and hosting many family holiday gatherings. They were blessed with 3 children: Phil, Janell, and Cheryl.

He retired from Cameron Cooper in 1996 after 34 years. After retirement, he began working with Evelyn at their tax and bookkeeping service. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2917, PNA Koscuiszko Lodge 165 and a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. He loved to travel, fish, garden, dance and especially eat Evelyn’s cooking. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved the solitude spent in the country at his place in Cat Springs. He was a very quiet, caring and generous man who touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn; son, Phil Boriskie and wife Kathy; daughters, Janell Marin and Cheryl Burgess; 4 grandchildren, Jaclyn Hildreth, Katherine & Matthew Boriskie and Nicholas Burgess; 3 great grandchildren, Jayse Marin, Emily & Robyn Bates; sister, Natalie Hanus; brother, Eugene Boriskie, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Jake Boriskie.

The Family wishes to thank the VA Hospital and staff for their loving care of Lawrence.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 6-8pm at Pat H. Foley & Company; the rosary will be recited at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 10135 West Road, Houston. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer. The family invites all to join us for a lunch to celebrate Lawrence’s life at St. Maximilian Kolbe’s Hall following the graveside services.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to The Westview School, 1900 Kersten Drive, Houston 77043 in honor of Lawrence’s grandson, Matthew Boriskie.
