Lawrence Simon

Lawrence Simon, 82, of Pasadena, Texas, born April 6, 1928 was called home by our Lord on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena, Texas. Born and raised in Maurice, Louisiana, one of eight children born to Phelosie and Cecile Simon. He served his country in the Korean War before moving to the Houston area in 1953, and has resided in Pasadena since 1967. He worked in the construction industry his entire career as a homebuilder, tile setter and commercial builder before retiring in the early 1990’s. A loving husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Emma Magdeline Simon. Left to cherish his memories: three children: son, Rickey C. Cantrell, daughter, Sandra Oestreich, son, Lawrence S. Simon, Jr; sisters: Jeanell Kelly, Dorothy Rosvold, Doris Hobbs; brothers: Dudley Simon, Wilbert Simon; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren, along with many friends and companions who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be Thurs., Jan. 27th from 4-8PM. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM, Fri., Jan. 28th. Both services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
