Lena Marie Romeo Bua

Lena Marie Romeo Bua passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 12, 2016. She was born February 12, 1930 to Anthony and Sara Romeo in Caldwell, Texas. Lena and her family moved to Houston where she attended Jeff Davis High School and soon after school began a career in banking.

Upon meeting and marrying the love of her life, Michael in 1950, they began many entrepreneurial ventures in beauty shops, grocery and bakery all while starting a family.

Lena loved music, dancing and her life was raising her five active children. She was a Cub Scout Den Mom, attended football games, dance recitals and traveled with her group the Dirty Dozen. Lena joined the Italian Women's Club Neo Debs in the late 1950's which became a great group of friends and her extended family and she remained a member until her death.

Lena was beautiful inside and out, cherished her family and dear friends during her lifetime. Lena will be forever missed by all.

Lena is survived by her husband, Michael; son, Michael Bua, Jr. and wife, Diem and son Toby Nguyen; and daughters, Michele Bua, Melissa Bua McGinley and husband, Tony; four grandchildren, David M. Bua, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Eric J. Bua and wife, Emily, Andie Marie, and Austin J. Alexander; our beautiful great granddaughter, Hadley Carter Bua; and daughter-in-law, Jan Osterhaus and husband, Duane; sister, Josephine Rao. She was preceded in death by infant daughter, Lisa Ann Bua, son, David Michael Bua, and brothers Domonic, Ross, Tony, and Vincent Romeo

Funeral Mass has been rescheduled due to the weather for this Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 3600 Brinkman Street, Houston, TX 77018. Following the funeral mass all are invited to a reception at her daughter’s home, Michele Bua, 7710 Meadovaile, Houston, TX 77063. Interment will be private for the family at a later date at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
