He was a beloved teacher, theatre director, and counselor whose impact reached generations of students, families, and colleagues. He was recognized for the many plays he directed and later for his compassionate service as a counselor at both Spring High School and Westfield High School. In addition to his work in public schools, Alan spent more than 30 years counseling families and birth mothers through AIM Adoptions, offering wisdom, kindness, and support during some of life’s most important and difficult moments.
Alan is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years, Jan Deets; his children, Jeremy Deets, Alana Deets Kubeczka, Jennifer Deets Sims, Wade Deets, Westin Deets, and Joni Deets; his sons-in-law, Scott Kubeczka and Morgan Sims; his daughter-in-law, Heather Deets; and his grandchildren, Tyler Runyan, Alexys Deets, Allison Runyan, Kaitlyn Deets, Emma Kubeczka, Colby Sims, Kylee Kubeczka, and Olivia Deets. He attended Bammel Road Church of Christ for many years and later became a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church. He was a Christian and a godly man whose life reflected kindness, humility, wisdom, and love.
All who knew Alan loved him. He is remembered with deep affection and gratitude for the full and meaningful life he lived, the people he guided, the family he cherished, and the legacy of faith and love he leaves behind.
He is gone too soon, but he will be remembered always.
