

She was born on the 5th of September 1920, in Meridian, Mississippi daughter of Dr. and Mrs. T. A. Strain. Dolly attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. After working at the Air Force Bases in Mississippi, Texas, and Illinois, she began employment at Illinois Bell Telephone Company, Champagne, Illinois, and later transferred to Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in San Antonio, and then to Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Houston. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1984. Since retirement, Mrs. Scott has been a long-time volunteer at Texas Children’s Hospital. She is a member of St. Philip Presbyterian Church, and a former member of the Business and Professional Woman’s Club in Champaign, Illinois.
Dolly is preceded in death by her husband, the late Herbert W. Scott. Her survivors include a daughter, Lola Kay Milder; granddaughters, Kimberley Scott, and Jennifer Stewart; and two great grandsons, Jayden Stewart, and Jace Stewart.
The funeral service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 17th of July, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where the Rev. Dr. John W. Wurster, Senior Pastor of St. Philip Presbyterian Church, is to officiate.
