Lorraine Hurst

After living a truly blessed, healthy, and happy life, Lorraine Mallory Hurst passed away peacefully on Tuesday, the 22nd of March 2011, in Katy, Texas. She was born on the 19th of October, 1914, in San Antonio, Texas.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, the late Raymond Fuller Hurst. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Brady Cole, of Austin, Texas; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Mandy Hurst, of Spring, Texas, and Robert and Charlene Hurst, of East Bernard, Texas; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine has been a member of South Main Baptist Church since moving to Houston in 1942 and was a member of the Bethel Sunday School Class. She belonged to several organizations, including the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at the University of Texas, the Blue Bird Circle – Life Member, the Lady Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, AX Chapter of the PEO and the Junior League.

In accordance with Lorraine’s wishes, a formal memorial service will not be conducted.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests memorial gifts in Lorraine’s honor be directed to the Blue Bird Circle, 615 West Alabama St., Houston, TX, 77006, or to South Main Baptist Church, 4100 Main St., Houston, TX, 77002.
