Louis Anthony Cashiola went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Louis was born to Anthony and Mamie Cashiola on April 19, 1925 in Houston, TX. As a child, he enjoyed playing with his brother, Joseph and sister, Lena. Louis is survived by his wife, Linda M. Cashiola of over forty years. Louis enjoyed being a father to both of his sons, Anthony and Vincent. He is survived by several nephews and nieces, 6 grandchildren and one great grandson. Louis had countless friends and family who always spoke highly of him and remembered what a friendly, caring man he was.
Louis enlisted in the Army in 1942 and was stationed overseas in the Pacific during World War II. He was on the front line in Japan and was fortunate enough to come home to the U.S. as a veteran. Louis was generous and sent every dollar home to his family, which his mother saved for him. They had an incredible bond and he was proud to care for her for many years.
Louis was a well-known and successful contractor in Houston and started working in 1947. His resume includes numerous hotels and motels in the area as well as several churches and residential buildings still operating today. He could always be caught in his jumpsuit and working on one project or another. There was never a time he was not working or thinking about work. Retirement was not a word he wanted to accept in his life and even after he did retire he continued to think of new projects and jobs he could start. His contact list was endless filled with builders and contacts who were always interested in working with him.
His generosity and desire to help others in need was far beyond any other. He could always find a friend in a crowd and knew how to make others feel welcomed. His family was the most important thing to him and he would stop at no limit to put smiles on their faces. He was Louis to many, a Popo to some, a Honey to others and a Friend to all he met.
