Lucille Elizabeth Mechler Huegele

Lucille Elizabeth Huegele, was born on June 2, 1924 in LaCoste, TX to Celeste and Agnes Mechler. She passed away peacefully on January 28, 2012 at the age of 87. Lou is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Elton Huegele, her daughter Barbara Sokol and husband David; her son Michael Huegele and wife Karen; her grandchildren, Brian and MaryAnne Sokol, Amy and Eddie Quirsfeld, Michael and Robin Sokol; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ian, AnneMarie, Addison, Eryn, Emily and Zoe, who were all dearly loved by their NaNa; and granddog, Axl. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Red Huegele; and sisters-in-law, Betty Huegele, Thora Williams and Evelyn Huegele.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 until 7:30 PM on Monday, January 30, 2012 at Brookside Funeral Home Champions. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 in the Mary Chapel at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 19222 Tomball Pkwy., with The Rev. Fr. Charles J. Samperi, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow immediately in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.

Lou's family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Adnan Jafri, Ms. Jackie Younger, Ms. Pat Stiegler, Ms. Mary Sherrod, Ms. Sheila Snyder and the entire nursing staff of The Heritage Retirement Center's Critical Care Unit and Altus Hospice Care for the outpouring of love, care and devotion they have shown to her and the family while she was in their care.
