PoPo,
I want to say thank you for sharing your family with me and welcoming me as one of your own. I didn't have a father in my life but many uncles and you a great uncle I would know as dad. You all taught me to be selfless, to always be kind, and love for family. I felt blessed to have that void  filled, but Your heart had more love to offer. You praised me for my accomplishments no matter the size, shared your wisdom, and encouraged me when I felt lost. These are a few out of the many reasons you were my PoPo. My heart will always miss your presence, but when I look into Mimi's eyes I will see a lifetime of love, feel your embrace in the arms of Eliza, Tati and Shelly and your beautiful smile on the faces of your grandchildren. I hope that one day I can be at least half the man that you didn't have to be. I love you.

Our love is everlasting and we will see each other again.

One thing about my Popo that was completely undeniable was the peace and comfort that his presence brought to each and every one of us. For my God brother it was his voice. Listening to my grandfather talk brought this feeling of warmth over him. For my Aunt it was his hugs. When he hugged her, she somehow knew that everything would be okay. For my mom it was his touch. When he touched her face, she felt all of the love and protection that he had over her. For me it was his belly. As a kid, I would always fall asleep on his belly because I felt safest there in his arms. Regardless of what part of him it was, each of us have experienced his warmth and abundance and that is something we will never forget.

My grandpa was a man from humble beginnings who worked extremely hard to make a good life for himself and his family. Whatever Popo had he would give us. Popo was a waiter at many prestigious restaurants and hotels in Houston. At the end of each day he would save his tip change in a Folgers coffee can. Once the can was full he would give it to one of his grandchildren. He rotated between all of us with each year, but I remember that when he gave it he would say "it's not much mija, but maybe it can help you buy something." He never game himself credit for the amount that he did for us. One of my favorite memories of Popo was that each time we saw him he would sneak some of the hard candies from the restaurant and give it to us. Whether it was candy or tips, whatever he could give to us he would give and it always went a long way. Thus I think I can speak on behalf of my mom and her sisters and all of us grandchildren when I say that from the very first day of our lives to the very last day of yours, thank you Popo for giving everything you had to your family and for fighting for us each day. You will live forever in our hearts and we love you very much.

Hey Popo,
I love you and miss you so much!  Thank you for being such a loving and caring grandpa.  I will cherish all the moments we've had together ever since I was a little kid.  From you coming to my soccer games to all the games of pool you let me win.  All memories that will last a lifetime.  It's hard to say goodbye, but I know you will always be with us in our hearts and that's all that matters.

Mr. Garcia became my dad about 25 years ago when I married Eliza.  We got along very well from the get-go.  We enjoyed many things together but more specifically we bonded through sports. I believe our most enjoyable moments together were watching the Texans.  We cheered together when they won and grieved together when they lost.  Other special moments together were at our Super Bowl parties at my house.  Even though this year dad won't physically be here for the super bowl, I know that he is watching from above with us.  I would like to say that I enjoyed every moment we shared and the memories will last forever.  I love you dad.

Popo, I miss you and love you with all of my heart. My world will never be the same without you. You were the best grandpa a girl could ask for. Thank you for your warmth and kindness and for loving me and all of your grandchildren unconditionally. I know that you are flying high and watching over all of us and I know that I'll see you again eventually. In the meantime, I will find strength through the memories that we've shared and the lessons that you've taught me. You are in my heart forever and always.

Thank you for your unconditional love, for teaching me how to respect my elders and for all of the life lessons you taught me. You lead by example and were the perfect role model. I am blessed to have a dad like you!  I love you with all my heart and soul!

Daddy, you always loved and accepted me just as I am.  I love you so much. I miss your voice, your bear hugs and your gentle spirit. Although my heart is broken, I can still feel your love. You will always be in my heart.
