Luis Lopez Ordaz, 72, was reunited with his parents in heaven on July 29, 2016. Luis was born July 10, 1944 to Josefina Lopez Flores and Jesus Ordaz Sandoval in Palo Alto, Michoacan Mexico. As the son of a farmer, he developed a special love of the land and respect for nature. Growing up in a large and close-knit family of 11 children, Luis was well loved and admired for his sense of humor, work ethic, and caring nature. He understood the value of hard work and the importance of family. He was often thought of as a paternal figure by his younger brothers and sisters. At the age of 20, Luis moved to Monterrey. He knew opportunities in the city would provide for a more prosperous future for his siblings. His personality and charismatic nature would lead him to great success, when he eventually opened a fruit stand, enabling him to support his family and provide for their education. Luis ran the fruit stand with the help of his family for several years. In 1970, Luis became the first of his siblings to leave Mexico for the United States. He learned a new trade in Houston, Texas becoming a master brick mason with a reputation for high quality work. It was there that he met and fell in love with Janie Lin Gee. On August 3, 1975, they married and shared over 40 years of happiness. Together, they raised six children: Victoria, Juan Carlos, Veronica, Luis Enrique, Vanessa, and Viviana. Throughout his illness, he maintained a fighting spirit, a positive attitude, and a desire to be near his loved ones.
