Lumir "Lu" Christ, a respected member of the West University and Bellaire community, passed away peacefully on the 2nd of October 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on the 13th of November 1936, and raised in the small town of Weimar, Lu valued his early years as an only child before building a life filled with adventure alongside his devoted wife, Susan, one of ten siblings. Lu deeply cherished his relationships with his brothers- and sisters-in-law, whom he loved dearly.
Together, Susan and Lu lovingly supported their four children and four grandchildren through countless sporting events and activities, always beaming with pride and enthusiasm. Lu's generosity and kindness were evident in the time spent helping with countless block parties, where his door was always open and his grill was always fired up. As a skilled craftsman, Lu was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and family with any project.
Lu found joy in life's simple pleasures: early morning hunts, fishing trips, and spending time with friends and family. His granddaughters will remember him as “Opa”, a loyal companion and mentor, who taught them value of patience through countless hours of fishing, creating lifelong memories.
Lu is remembered for his genuine spirit, humble nature, integrity, and kind heart, inspiring those around him. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched. Lu is survived by his children: Bryan Christ and wife Stacey, Stacy Christ, Cami Goff and husband John, and Charlie Christ and wife Evans; and his granddaughters Lucie Melcher, Lily Melcher, Madeline Christ, and Sara Christ. Lu was preceded in death by his father, Emil Christ; his mother, Erna Christ; and his beloved wife, Susan Christ. While Lu will be deeply missed by all, he has joined Susan in eternal peace.
