Manuel Herrera Palacios went to be with his Lord on October 23, 2017. He was born on December 10, 1926 in Houston, Texas to parents Braulia and Jesus Palacios. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 59 years, Geneva T. Palacios; son, Thomas Rivera and wife Linda; two brothers, Johnny Palacios, Jessie Palacios; brother-in-law, Ignacio Garcia; sister-in-law Gloria Palacios. He is survived by his four children, Arturo Rivera and wife Rachel, Bertha R. North and husband Talbert, Rodolfo “Rudy” Palacios and wife Olga, Manuel T. Palacios; five siblings, Victoria Salines, Isabel Garcia, Frank Palacios and wife Lupe, Lucy Kappe and husband Don, Rowland “Roy” Palacios; seventeen grandchildren, Danny Rivera, Yvonne Rivera Hunter, Ricky Rivera, Peggy Lynn Rivera, Angelo Rivera and wife Vivian, Janet Conrad and husband Ronald, Donna Ramirez and partner Richard Smith, Shannon Gonzalez and wife Elezar, Thomas Rivera II, Terry Rivera, Tina Laferriera, Christopher Rivera, Brianna Palacios and partner Phillip Mota, Marrissa Perry and husband Jeff, Jason Silva and wife Erin, Richard Silva and wife Aremy; twenty-seven great grandchildren, Jessie Hunter, Royce Hunter, Nathaniel Rivera, Dominique Rivera, Gabriel Rivera, Mikayla Rivera, Wade Turner Gustafson, Jr. and wife Nicole, Christopher Ray Gonzales, Kristen Lauren Gonzales and partner Bradley Ray Garcia, Adriana Gonzalez, Jimmy Lee Anderson, Amanda Gonzalez, ThomasRivera III, Angela Mota, Adam Longoria, Amanda Longoria, Alexandria Longoria, David Laferriera, Jason Laferriera, Kristina Laferriera, Kristen Gates, Michael Rivera Jr., Jimmy Rivera, Kimberly Rivera, Drake Perry, Eli Mota, Sabastian Silva; fourteen great-great grandchildren, Annalisa Gustafson, Bradley Ray Gonzales, Makenna Shae Gabbard, Emma Rose Gustafson, Micah Ray Garcia, AAyliah Mota, Thomas Mota, Abel Longoria, Amelia Longoria, Ava Yorke, Janae Ortiz, Adriana Chaverria, Rosalie Gates Michael Rivera III; two loving caregivers, Lisa Garcia, Charlotte Hamlett; as well as a host of friends and other family members.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, October 27, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; with a prayer service 6:30 PM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
