Marcus Jerrod Harper Jr.

Marcus was a great kid who always had a big smile on his face. Marcus loved to play basketball and had been on high school and AAU teams.

Marcus Harper, Jr. graduated from Thornwood High School in 2012, then be briefly attended Parkland Community College for a year. After a few years of deciding his career move, he relocated to Houston, Texas to better himself and change his life. At the time, Marcus Harper, Jr., accepted a job at Mauser Packaging Solutions. During his time at Mauser, he was a machine operator, safety representative and was training to be an assistant team leader.

During the course of Marcus’ life, he met Jade, who became the love of his life in 2011. Years later they went on to bring a star in this world named Harmony and another star that will be born on September 27, 2024. As a family, they enjoyed many outings where they made many wonderful memories and loved on each other.

Marcus Harper, Jr. is survived by his parents, Marcus Sr., & Frances, his sister, Raquel, girlfriend Jade, daughter Harmony, his grandmothers Carolyn (Floyd) and Christine (June), uncle William (Tasha), his aunts Tammy and Sharon, and a host of great-aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service for Marcus will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
