She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years, Charles Christofferson.
She grew up 5 miles northeast of Terrell, TX. She attended Terrell schools where she was a member of the high school band and valedictorian of her class. She received a scholarship to the University of Dallas. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was valedictorian of her class with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics. Her senior year she worked at Texas Instruments Central Research Laboratory where she met the love of her life and her soul mate Charles “Chris” Christofferson. They began dating and were married the following summer. Meanwhile, Ann had received a summer scholarship to General Atomic Research Laboratory in San Diego, CA and a scholarship and fellowship in mathematics to Rice University Graduate School. After 1.5 years at Rice, Ann began work at Shell Development Labs.
Ann and Chris soon began their family with John Alan born Feb. 13, 1964 in Houston and Linda Kay born May 16, 1965 in Dallas. She worked at TI in Dallas followed by TRW Systems and Lockheed in Houston. Both Ann and Chris went to work for the US Army at White Sands Missile Range in NM and at Bell Labs in NJ followed by TRW Systems in CA. The family returned to Houston where Ann worked for Lockheed. The family was completed with the birth of Julie Ann on Jan 31, 1977 in Houston.
Ann & Chris had originally planned to have four children, but for various reasons the fourth child never happened. Ann soon returned to work at Lockheed, where she worked until retirement in 1994. Ann did design simulation, analysis, and documentation on very large and complicated simulation programs. She was best known for her ability to find and fix any bugs, some previously hidden in any simulation.
In spite of her successful work history, Ann was most proud of her family. She enjoyed genealogy and bird watching and the entire family enjoyed traveling. She lived a life of fulfillment and died from the effects from COPD.
She is survived by John, Linda (Edward) Perez and Julie (Mark) Behne, four grandchildren: Jeff, and Jenni Perez and Josie and Megan Behne.
