Margaret Mary Richardson

Margaret Mary Richardson, 88, daughter of Helen (Venarske) and Owen McCormick, died on January 8, 2021 at Windsor Houston Skilled Nursing Facility while under hospice care. She was an alumna of St. Agnes Academy and St. Thomas University, both of Houston. She married Joe L. Richardson, son of Ruby (Richardson) and Alonzo Richardson, on October 6, 1956 at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral in Houston. They had three children, Rebecca Petrowski of Columbia, Connecticut, Sheila Richardson of Aurora, Colorado and Michael Richardson of Lebanon, Connecticut. She worked at Central Freight Lines in Houston for 40 years, retiring in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Houston where she was a very active member. She loved crossword puzzles and was a huge Astros fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Edward T. McCormick, and beloved grandson, Christopher St. Amand. Left to mourn her passing are her beloved children, her beloved son-in-law, Paul Petrowski, beloved grandson, Jeffrey St. Amand, beloved step grandchildren, Catherine Pomerleau (Armand), Steve Petrowski, and Angela Petrowski, beloved great granddaughter, Addison St. Amand, and beloved step great grandchildren, Lauren, Anthony, Katie and Emily Pomerleau and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her special friends, Martina Spacek, Penny Lierbo and Ann Machalek, special neighbors, Susan Russell and children, Tina Terry, and many special friends from St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Graveside service will be on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. Due to the pandemic, only a limited number of family and friends will be permitted to attend. Guests are invited to view the service via livestream by clicking “Join Livestream” down below.
