Marge was born on the 16th of June 1920 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, whom she married at the United States Marine Corps Chapel, Quantico, Virginia, immediately after he received his commission before leaving for the Pacific. After returning from the war, they lived briefly in Allentown, until 1948, when they were transferred to Houston, Texas, by Atlas Mineral Products Company. In 1955, rather than returning to Allentown, the couple decided to remain in Houston and start a new business, The K. T. Snyder Company. They worked closely together to make this business venture a successful endeavor. Marge had a great life!
She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Barbara Marie Snyder; her brother, Frank; and her sister, Marie. Marge leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Kenneth T. Snyder, Sr; her children, Tom and Karen Snyder of Houston, Texas; Lynn and Armand Roos of Shreveport, Louisiana; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Roos and Kenny Roos.
She leaves behind a large circle of friends, including those at St. Cecilia Catholic School and Church; her bridge and golfing buddies at Lakeside Country Club; her caregivers, Ollie, Margaret, and Mary; and others who filled her last several years with love, kindness, support and patience.
A Mass of Christian Burial, and service of thanksgiving and celebration of Marge’s life, is to be offered at half-past ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 31st of January, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive in Houston, where the Most Rev. Vincent M. Rizzotto, D.D., J.C. L., Auxiliary Bishop of the Galveston-Houston Diocese, is to serve as the celebrant with Deacon Don Bradley assisting. Immediately following the mass, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Community Center.
Later in the afternoon, the family is to gather for a private Rite of Committal at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family appreciates memorial contributions to either the Margaret E. and Kenneth T. Snyder Scholarship Fund at St. Cecilia Catholic School, 11740 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, TX, 77024; the Margaret E. and Kenneth T. Snyder Endowment Scholarship Fund, Franklin and Marshall College, P. O. Box 3003, Lancaster, PA, 17604 or the charity of one's choice.
