Maria Martha Cabello

Maria Martha Cabello, age 69, of Houston, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2025. She was born in Mercedes, Texas on February 28, 1956 to parents Felix Cabello and Celia Hernandez.

Maria was a beloved mother, grandmother, and businesswoman. She was respected and admired by her children and many within her personal and professional life. She was known for her vibrant, fun-loving personality and beautiful smile. She was a woman of faith, joy, unassuming strength, kindness, care, and lived life with purpose.

Maria’s faith was firm in Christ Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She knew the way to eternal joy and peace was through a personal relationship with the Lord and shared this encouragement with family and friends time and again.

The role most important to Maria was being a mother. She loved her children and valued family time. Her warm home cooked meals would bring everyone together around the dinner table where laughter abounded and memories were made. Friends became family as there was always room at her table for anyone to come and sit. She was a gift to her children and an amazing mother.

As a grandmother, she made every moment count and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and discover new things. She loved spending time and doing activities they enjoyed like going to the park, dressing up, racing cars, painting, imaginative play, and so much more. As a young mother to a grandmother, she prioritized making time for her family.

Maria was a dear and trusted friend. She impacted the lives of many, whether she had known them for a short while or the friendship spanned decades. Maria owned and operated Cabello Building Services. She was highly respected and knowledgeable in her field and built long lasting relationships. She was a lifelong learner and enjoyed doing many things. Some of her favorite hobbies were cooking, gardening, reading the Word, crocheting, and embroidering.

Maria was a light in this world and an inspiration.

Maria is survived by her children Jose J. Perez, Eduardo A. Perez, Elizabeth Neal, and Ismael A. Estrada; five grandchildren; and her sister, Maria Del Refugio Cabello.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Felix Cabello and Celia Hernandez; her grandparents, Refugio Cabello and Rita Cabello; and her brothers Jose Rogelio Cabello, and Isabel Cabello.
