Maria B. Purdy

Maria emigrated from Germany to the U.S. through Ellis Island in 1937. She loved her career as a real estate agent in Houston, beginning with Anne Stromatt (Stromatt and Assoc.) and then Gary Greene Realty, where she worked until she was age 82.

Her husband, Charlie Purdy, who served in WWII and Korea, and was an R.N. supervisor at V.A. Hospital in Houston, was the love of her life. He passed away in 1968. She was a loving and very devoted Mom to her three surviving daughters; Cindy Sidell, Caroll Hodo (and husband Larry), and Eileen “Honey” Donohue (and husband Joseph). She was “Oma” to six surviving grandchildren; Susan Sidell (Darin Potts), Cindi Joelle Schuler, Sherry Pevey (and husband Corbin), Carrie Smart (and husband Chris), Casey and Celine Donohue, and nine great-grandchildren; Erika, Camille and Brianna Potts; Brice and Tyler Schnapp; Meghan and Madeleine Pevey; and Kennedy and Kayla Smart.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00pm - 8:00pm with funeral services on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 10:00am.
