Marian N. Cockerham, 86, passed away on August 29, 2018. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family. Preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Margaret Nichols, sons Kirk Cockerham and Mark “Chris” Cockerham. Marian is survived by son Kyle and wife Jackie, their children Dylan (Jenny), Sierra and Logan “Mac” Cockerham. Chris’s children Theresa Cockerham and Isabella “Rita” Kane (Frank) great grandchildren Evan and Charlie. Sister Carol and husband Paul Parks. Marian is also survived by many other loving relatives.
The most important things in Marian’s life were her family and friends. If you were one of them you knew that was true. There were great memories of raising her three boys in Sharpstown with the Rowan Lane gang, playing bridge with good friends, sightseeing trips across the country, and just sitting around talking. She loved camping, reading a good book, and watching Houston sports. She never missed an Astros game, through thick or thin. And let’s face it, there was a lot of thin before their first World Series title. She was a lover of all things Texas and was proud to tell you she was a native Houstonian. Big on tradition, for the last 45 years Marian spent one week in July at the annual Frio River camping trip.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service, celebrating the life of Marian Cockerham, at 5:00 pm, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road.
