Marianela Cruz

Marianela Cruz (aka Mary or Nena), age 64, passed away March 21, 2022 in Houston, TX surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 21, 1957 and grew up in the First Ward Community where she attended Reagan High School. Marianela was the daughter of Ramiro Moya Sr. and Maria Moya. She met the love of her life Jose Manuel Cruz at the Pan America Ballroom. It was love at first sight and have been married for 46 years.

Mary loved to play softball. She was a pitcher for a professional Women's softball League in Galveston, TX. She also enjoyed playing card games, dominos, dancing, listen to Tejano music, going to concerts, cooking BBQ, going fishing, and shooting pool. She was a caring, giving, and charismatic woman. She had a heart of gold and always willing to help her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her loving husband Jose and their children Anna, Raquel, and Joel Cruz. Grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew Flores. Great granddaughter, Layla Flores. Siblings, John Moya, Matilde Sanchez, Ramiro Moya Jr., and Preceded in Death by Antonio Moya. We know she is in heaven watching over us and with her beloved parents. Goodbye to a wonderful woman. She will be missed by all of her family and friends. Rest in Peace. We will always celebrate your life y seguir con el puro pinche party.

A visitation for Marianela will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, followed by a rosary service from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo, 501 Tidwell Rd., Houston, TX 77022. A committal service will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
